Position Description

The Designer reports to their Team Leader (Senior Project Manager or Project Manager). The primary role of the Designer is to support their direct supervisor in all aspects of the project. They will perform interior design tasks that include programming, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration. They are responsible for maintaining company design standards and reinforcing the company culture and brand. This job description encompasses Designer I, II, and III levels. Advancement is determined by factors including but not limited to experience and proficiency of key responsibilities, individual motivation, and professional maturity as well as the quality, accuracy, and consistency of work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design direction for projects including generating concept images

  • Assist and coordinate with the production of design presentations

  • Proficiently generate in Revit the design drawings and adhere to company standards; including floor finish and FF&E plans, material and room finish schedules

  • Coordinate with appropriate staff to ensure design intent, quality, and compliance with applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, and project budget restrictions

  • Participate in construction administration phase with required meetings, site observations, and review and process RFIs/submittals

  • Participate in the completion of FF&E itemized budgets, layouts, selections, specifications, and documentation based on project program, budget, and company standards

  • Work with external consultants, manufacturer representatives, contractors, and fabricators to advance the project design

  • Actively seek out opportunities for continued education including pursuing of licensure, vendor presentations, and on the job experience and training

  • Consistently communicate progress and completion of tasks with your supervisor.

  • Manage your own schedule, planning and forecasting accordingly, and accurately track and maintain your allotted hours/fee per project

  • Be willing to participate in company events to help build company culture

Qualifications

  • Professional Licensure: not required

  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited program

  • Software (current versions): Revit (proficiency required), AutoCAD (preferred), Microsoft Office Suite (proficiency), Adobe Creative Suite (proficiency preferred), Plan Grid (basic skills), and Bluebeam (proficiency preferred)

  • Experience: 0-6 years applicable experience is preferred

  • Transportation: Must have access to a vehicle, have the ability to drive, and travel via airplane
