Description
One of the largest provider of inspection, design, engineering, and quality assurance services for the U.S. residential construction industry. Our engineering team, consisting of over 100 individuals, has a long history of providing structural engineering services in the central U.S. We have a strong national presence in the structural, M.E.P., energy rating, and inspection services.

We are seeking Electrical Designers who will be responsible for design and development of layouts for electrical circuits or systems for power distribution. Candidates may assist in the production of detailed schematics. Qualified candidates may also do quality control of other’s work.

Essential responsibilities/skills
  • Understanding of principles of electrical engineering and design
  • Understanding of NEC code and applicable state electrical code.
  • Review, comment, designs prepared by the electrical engineering team.
  • Proficient in AUTOCAD

“Nice to have” responsibilities/skills
  • Ability to review, report and retain code specific knowledge for state/jurisdiction level construction document submittals.
  • Electrical Engineering degree from ABET accredited university, and 7+ years design experience with proven competency with designing for residential and commercial buildings.
  • Prior experience report writing is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in construction defects and deficiencies
  • Proficient in MS office

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-starter and perform assignments with minimal supervision.
  • A valid driver’s license without travel time restrictions.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and be resourceful.
  • Team player with positive and energetic attitude
  • Be willing to learn and adapt to inevitable company policy and procedural changes.

Experience/education requirements
  • 2+ years’ experience in electrical design or related field
  • Associates, bachelors, or related degree preferred
